Amendment No. 3 to SBN V.2.2-40:2018 "Inclusivity of Buildings and Structures. Basic Provisions"

📌 The amendment will come into effect on April 1, 2026.

This document was developed to harmonize Ukrainian building norms with international recommendations, best practices, and standards. Its goal is to ensure the accessibility of the environment for all users, regardless of their individual capabilities.

Amendment No. 3 introduces adjustments to several sections of the current edition, specifically clarifying requirements for:
🔷 Organization of land plots and adjacent territories: Including the arrangement of pedestrian paths, curb ramps, and pedestrian crossings.
🔷 Building planning solutions: Covering parameters for ramps, stairs, doors, sanitary facilities, and more.
🔷 Safety, navigation, and information retrieval: Specifying the use of tactile and visual accessibility elements.
🔷 Evacuation route parameters: In terms of fire safety.
🔷 Sanitary and hygienic parameters: And requirements for their accessibility.

📖 Furthermore, Section 8, "Means of Safety, Orientation, and Information Retrieval when Using the Environment," has been significantly revised. It regulates tactile elements, visual and acoustic indicators, and the logic of safe movement routes.
