The Day of Monuments of History and Culture of Ukraine is a significant annual event that highlights the importance of preserving the national cultural heritage as the foundation of the Ukrainian people's identity.

🔐 This day unites the efforts of scientists, architects, restorers, government authorities, and the professional community in the protection of historical and cultural assets. Its observance coincides with the International Day for Monuments and Sites, established by the international community with the support of ICOMOS and UNESCO, underscoring the global importance of cultural heritage preservation.

📚 Ukraine's cultural heritage is incredibly rich and diverse, comprising over 70,000 sites in more than 1,300 localities. The list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Ukraine includes prominent landmarks such as Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Historic Centre of Lviv, the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans, Ancient City of Tauric Chersonese, the Historic Centre of Odesa, as well as unique wooden churches of the Carpathian region and natural sites, including the Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians.
