🤝 Establishing Japan-Ukraine Partnership for Ukraine’s Reconstruction

On February 18, 2025, Oleksandr Chervak held a meeting with representatives of Metal Products Inc. and JICA.

On the Japanese side, the meeting was attended by:

👤 Mr. Susumu Watanabe, President of Metal Products Inc.

👤 Mr. Hiroyuki Iwamatsu, Advisor at Metal Products Inc.

✔️ During the meeting, the participants discussed the current state of the construction industry, sustainable construction issues, and potential areas of cooperation.

📍 Metal Products Inc. specializes in the production of steel structures and thin-sheet steel, including:

💠 Purlins for channel cladding;

💠 Lattices;

💠 Shutter frames;

💠 Frames for mounting solar panels;

💠 Steel components for tower structures, etc.

Metal Products Inc. aims to implement sustainable construction solutions in Ukraine by utilizing advanced technologies and environmentally friendly materials.

📍 JICA is a Japanese international cooperation agency operating under the Government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) program. Collaborating with the international community, including G7 countries, the agency provides support in response to the challenges Ukraine faces. Specifically, it implements technical assistance projects, provides concessional loans to support the budget, and offers grant (non-repayable) aid programs.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on specific cooperation opportunities, identify potential areas of engagement with JICA, and develop joint initiatives for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
