🍃 Green Skills for Ukraine’s Recovery: New Opportunities for People and the Industry
📅 On 8 October 2025, as part of CBU Business Day, a roundtable was held: “Green Skills for Ukraine’s Recovery: Dialogue Between Government and Business.”
🎤 Andrii Teliupa, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, shared the Government’s vision of rebuilding the country under the Build Back Better principle—recovery that applies modern, environmentally friendly technologies and develops green skills.
In the video:
"According to the World Bank’s latest assessment, Ukraine’s recovery needs exceed $524 billion, including over $100 billion for construction alone. The Government of Ukraine is committed to rebuilding better than before. Guided by the principle of “Build Back Better,” we will restore infrastructure to leading international standards.
To ensure a full and future-proof recovery, we must deploy green technologies and develop green skills through targeted training and adult reskilling. Today, the market faces an acute shortage of operators, installers, and specialized architects—professionals capable of designing, assembling, and delivering such projects. As a result, wait times already stretch for months; without comprehensive retraining and upskilling, progress will stall.
We see major potential in engaging veterans, internally displaced persons, and young people. For these groups, reconstruction should offer not only well-paid employment but also a mission—work that delivers meaningful impact for individuals and for society."
