🛑 Outcomes of the FIEC General Assembly: new leadership, European integration and the reconstruction of Ukraine

On May 29, 2026, a strategically important event for the entire European construction industry took place in Paris — the General Assembly of the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC). Lev Partskhaladze, President of the CBU, and CBU CEO Oleksandr Chervak took part in the event to strengthen cooperation with European partners.

📍 One of the main decisions of the assembly was the election of Jean-Pierre Passeri as the new President of FIEC for the next mandate of 2026-2028.

👏 The team of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to Piero Petrucco, who completes his tenure as FIEC President at the end of 2026, for his personal facilitation of the effective work of the Task Force Ukraine, and for keeping the Ukrainian issue among the main priorities of the European construction community.

🧷 Another important news was the official accession of the Polish Union of Construction Employers (PZPB) to FIEC.

🌐 In addition to organizational and personnel issues, during the meeting the participants discussed in detail current challenges and the European strategy for construction development.

👥 A significant part of the assembly was dedicated to the activities of the Task Force Ukraine. The participants were shown the harsh realities in which Ukrainian business operates, in particular the consequences of hostile missile strikes and damage to the office of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine.
During his speech, CBU President Lev Partskhaladze expressed deep gratitude to European associations for their help in restoring specific social infrastructure facilities and emphasized the fundamental role of the construction sector in the country's European integration.

🏠 Separately, Lev Partskhaladze noted the significant contribution of Kjetil Tonning, Head of the FIEC-EIC Task Force Ukraine, Honorary President of FIEC, and the Norwegian Scaffolding Association for their help in restoring a lyceum in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region.

🗓️ The next meeting of the FIEC General Assembly will take place on December 4, 2026, in Brussels, and the summer FIEC General Assembly is scheduled for June 24-25, 2027, in Prague.
