Working meeting of the CBU with Polar Partners

Working meeting of the CBU with Polar Partners

🤝On February 16, 2024, the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine held a working meeting with a representative of the Finnish company Polar Partners with the participation of the leaders of the communities of Donetsk region that were damaged.

The meeting was attended by:

👤Lev Partskhaladze, President of the CBU

👤Oleksandr Chervak, executive director of the CBU

👤Kimmo Kumpulainen, founder of Polar Partners

👤Serhiy Malinovskyi, representative of Business Finland Country Advisor

👤Viktoria Nabokova, First Deputy Head of the Kramatorsk District State Administration

👤Olexandr Zhuravlev, Head of the Lyman City Military Administration

👤Natalia Bukreeva, Head of the Mariupol District Military Administration

👤Oleksiy Vorobyov, Head of the Siversk City Military Administration

👤Serhiy Goshko, Head of the Soledar City military administration

👤Serhiy Chaus, Head of the Chasovoyarsk City Military Administration

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of restoring Ukrainian schools and kindergartens that were damaged or destroyed as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation. The Polar Partners company implements educational infrastructure reconstruction projects around the world. For example, it is rebuilding 75 schools destroyed by the earthquake in Peru.

🏫Representatives of communities noted that they are interested in developing typical projects of schools and kindergartens of various categories. So that each community could implement a project that would meet its needs.

The possibility of creating temporary relocated schools on the basis of existing educational institutions was also considered. Polar Partners, together with savED, is already implementing such a pilot project for the Mariupol City Lyceum in Kyiv (Pushcha-Vodytsia). Additional premises were built for the temporary school on the basis of a local educational institution, and the educational process is provided by teachers from Mariupol.

🏗️During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of supporting the construction of a relocated boarding school from Lyman on the basis of a kindergarten in Brovary. The implementation of this project will allow children from the Lyman community and other affected territories, in particular, temporarily occupied ones, to continue their education offline.

Another project implemented by Polar Partners is an afternoon school for teachers. The project is aimed at teachers' assimilation of additional skills necessary for teaching children in todayєs conditions. Training is organized on the basis of Finnish approaches, but it is also possible to follow the Ukrainian program.

The participants outlined plans for the nearest cooperation. Thus, community representatives will formulate their priority needs, taking into account the plans to restore the educational infrastructure in the region, based on the realities of today. And the company will present options for possible directions of providing financial support for the implementation of projects.

🤝 It is necessary to create a roadmap of actions already today, so that after the liberation of temporarily occupied cities, it is possible to start reconstruction according to already ready projects.
