Construction Forum "ENERGY EFFICIENT RECOVERY OF UKRAINE"

February 13, 2024, the Construction Forum "ENERGY EFFICIENT RECOVERY OF UKRAINE" took place ♻️

☝️ The executive director of the CBU OLEKSANDR CHERVAK joined the panel "Cooperation and synergy: the role of specialized associations in the reconstruction of Ukraine" on behalf of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine. He presented the role of the Confederation in the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine to the participants.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the CBU has emphasized and changed the priorities of its activities. One of the keys is establishing a dialogue between the authorities, business, international partners and communities, both those affected by the shelling and those who have taken on the challenge of accommodating internally displaced persons.

💬 "The CBU in all its manifestations involves the main stakeholders as much as possible, and our main role today is to create a platform for dialogue for everyone to join," said Oleksandr Chervak.

He reminded that in 2022, as a result of many meetings with FIEC and at the initiative of the Central Bank of Ukraine, a working (target) group Task Force FIEC - EIC "Ukraine" was created, which unites the entire European construction business for the future reconstruction of our state.

As part of the meetings of the Task Force FIEC - EIC "Ukraine", together with European business, The Recommendations for the Future Reconstruction of Ukraine were worked out. They are aimed at those interested in the reconstruction of Ukraine according to the principle of "build back better" and at the same time stimulate and protect the interests of Ukrainian employers.

🤝In addition, the CBU fruitfully cooperates with communities and supports the development of comprehensive plans for the spatial development of territories and is ready to provide expert assistance. Together with partners, the Confederation is working on the issue of the shortage of workers and the training of professional and qualified workers.

Separately, Oleksandr Chervak noted the involvement of the CBU in reforming the industry, improving the public procurement procedure, so that recovery would be even more effective, and communities would receive quality results.

💬"We believe that it is possible to achieve success in a constructive dialogue with the central government and communities. One of the challenges facing the international community is the openness of all procedures - anti-corruption policy. There are indeed a number of reforms in Ukraine, but there are also things that still need to be worked on. The CBU, in turn, taking into account the practical experience of business, hopes to help both the authorities and communities", - shared the executive director of the CBU.

Vitaly Hrusevich, Chairman of the Board of the international business association The Wall-Ukraine; Kostyantyn Saliy, President of the Public Union "Ukrainian Union of Manufacturers of Building Materials”; Kostiantyn Gura, Conservation Director of WWF-Ukraine; Mykhailo Orlenko, executive director of the Association "Ukrainian Manufacturers of Translucent Structures"; Serhiy Borovets, executive director of the "Foam Plastic Manufacturers" Association; Yuliya Berezhna, executive director of the Public Organization "Ukrainian Water Society WATERNET"; Natalia Miranovych, director of development of the Public Union "Business for Partnership", also spoke about what the specialized associations are currently focusing on, how their work has changed since the full-scale invasion, what are their achievements, what challenges they face and how they see the future of Ukraine.

☑️Organizers of the forum: Public Union "Business for Partnership" within the framework of the Project "Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Directive on Energy Efficiency in Ukraine", implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and co-financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
