📅 On 8 October 2025, CBU Business Day was held!

👤 Moderator: Oleksandr Chervak, CEO of CBU

👤 Pierre Carlo Sandei, Authorized Representative of the United Nations Environment Programme in Ukraine

👤 Aida Lindmaier, Head of the International Labour Organization Office in Ukraine
👤 Also within this block, Svitlana Berzina, President of the All-Ukrainian NGO “Living Planet,” presented the draft roadmap “Green Jobs for Ukraine’s Recovery and European Integration.”
🧭 The roadmap was developed by the expert team of the NGO “Living Planet” in partnership with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), based on a study of the status and potential for creating new green jobs and reintegrating veterans into the green labor market during Ukraine’s recovery.
📊 In the course of this research, the team analyzed over 700,000 enterprises, surveyed 120 companies and 1,040 veterans and service members, and held dozens of focus groups and in-depth interviews.
💬 “We have identified types of economic activity that can become an entry point to the EU’s single green market for goods, services, and technologies—particularly through transforming traditional sectors by introducing sustainable practices,” noted Svitlana Berzina.
Priority areas for development:
💠 Transport and infrastructure
💠 Water supply and wastewater treatment
💠 Land reclamation
💠 Renewable energy sources (RES) and clean technologies
💠 Sustainable tourism
💠 Demining
💠 Agronomy and organic production
💠 Eco-friendly building materials
💠 Energy-efficient construction
💠 Sustainable forest management
Proposed actions:
💠 Enshrine the definition of green jobs in legislation and ensure decent-work guarantees
💠 Update education programs with an emphasis on reskilling/upskilling, including for veterans
💠 Launch grant programs to create green jobs with clear eco-criteria
💠 Use market-based green instruments: green lending, standards, voluntary certification, eco-labeling, and green public procurement
💠 Implement Regulation (EU) 2015/2174 to account for employment in the environmental goods and services sector and strengthen institutional capacity. 🏛️
📥 Comments and proposals on the roadmap are accepted until 1 November 2025 on the project website. 📨
