🤝 How European business can contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine: opportunities and achievements of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine"
On September 1, 2026, a meeting of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine" took place, with the participation of members of the Board of Directors of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU). The participants discussed opportunities for European business in Ukraine, European Union (EU) support instruments, participation in reconstruction projects, war risk insurance, public-private partnership and privatization, as well as the development of modular construction, digitalization, and workforce training.
🏗️ Kostyantyn Lisnychyy, Strategic Advisor to UkraineInvest, presented investment opportunities for European construction companies.
Javier Menéndez Bonilla, Head of Sector at DG ENEST of the European Commission, presented EU instruments for supporting public and private investments in Ukraine.
🛡️ Practical opportunities for EU business were presented by Jeanne Robles, Policy Expert at the Ukraine Sector of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG ENEST) of the European Commission.
🏗️ A representative of DG ENEST responsible for the construction sector also provided information on the preparation of a sectoral dialogue between the European Commission, Ukrainian authorities, and the construction sector.
📚 One of the important topics of the meeting was the Roadmap for Training Specialists for the Construction Sector of Ukraine for 2026–2030, presented by Oleksandr Chervak, Executive Director of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine.
The CBU developed the roadmap in response to the workforce shortage in the industry. About 520,000 people work in construction, but the staffing level is only about 50%.
💻 Separately, Andriy Poddubny, Head of the CBU Committee on BIM and Digitalization in Construction, representative of PBF, and expert in BIM, digital transformation, and European integration, presented the CBU initiative to establish a committee on digitalization and BIM.
🤝 An important direction is the CBU's participation in the European Construction 4.0 working group, which promotes the exchange of experience and joint work between Ukrainian and European experts. Digitalization is viewed not only as a technological upgrade.
WE WILL WIN AND REBUILD EVERYTHING! 💪
TOGETHER TO VICTORY!
GLORY TO UKRAINE! 💙💛
