📍 Inclusive Approaches in Vocational Education and Training

🗓️ On February 26, 2026, the Skills4Recovery programme hosted representatives of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine, along with Ukrainian media, at the Kyiv Vocational College of Construction and Municipal Economy. The Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU), represented by Executive Director Oleksandr Chervak, joined the visit on behalf of the employer community.

📈 The visit demonstrated how the European Union and its Member States support Ukraine’s vocational education and training (VET) system, fostering sustainable economic recovery and creating inclusive employment opportunities.

👥 The guests toured the training workshops and engaged with the college leadership, private sector representatives, teachers, students, and graduates who have benefited from upskilling and reskilling opportunities.

💭 During the visit, Oleksandr Chervak shared the CBU’s latest developments. In particular, he spoke about the "Bridging Skills for Construction: A Roadmap for Providing a Skilled Workforce" project, organized under the Skills4Recovery initiative to address the shortage of qualified personnel. He also highlighted the launch of a pilot Quality Mark programme for VET institutions within the sequa "Professional Synergy" project.

📌 The discussions focused on two key pillars:

🔹 Private Sector Engagement and Pathways to Employment Close cooperation between VET institutions and businesses ensures that curricula meet real labor market needs and create genuine career opportunities for students.
🔹 Inclusion and (Re)integration into the Labor Market Participants reviewed inclusive training approaches that provide vulnerable groups with access to professional skills, facilitating their integration or return to active professional life.

🤝 The visit concluded with a Q&A session for the media. Participants emphasized the vital importance of continued systemic support from the EU for human capital development and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
