🕯️ May 18th - Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People

Today, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people — one of the most tragic crimes of the 20th-century totalitarian regime.

👥 In 1944, hundreds of thousands of Crimean Tatars were forcibly deported from their native land. Thousands of people perished during the journey and in places of forced exile due to inhumane conditions, starvation, and repression. This tragedy became a deep wound for the entire Crimean Tatar nation and an integral part of Ukraine's history.

📕 Today, under the conditions of the temporary occupation of Crimea, the issues of protecting human rights, preserving cultural heritage, and restoring justice remain crucially important.

🖇️ The Confederation of Builders of Ukraine expresses its solidarity with the Crimean Tatar people and honors the memory of all victims of the deportation. We remember the tragic pages of history and support the struggle for freedom, dignity, and the right to live on one's own land.
