Possibilities of financing from Finnish government institutions and the features of cooperation with NEFCO

🌐 On May 21, 2024, an extended meeting of the Board of Directors of the CBU was held, during which the participants discussed the possibilities of financing from Finnish government institutions and the features of cooperation with NEFCO.

 

👤The moderator was Sergii Malynovskyi, representative of Business Finland in Ukraine.

 

Thus, the representatives of FINNVERA, FINNFUND and BUSINESS FINLAND spoke about the features of receiving financing from Finnish government institutions.

 

💰Finnvera Outi Homanen - FINNVERA, presented the possibilities of increasing export credit financing to increase trade between Finland and Ukraine.

 

👤Patrik Bredbacka - FINNFUND, cited a number of effective investments for the private sector and FINNFUND's plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

 

💻Reijo Kangas - BUSINESS FINLAND informed about Finland's proposals in the field of construction. Thus, he noted the importance of using ecological and low-carbon solutions. Separately, he cited ways to integrate digitization and robotics in construction.

 

🏗️Ulf Bojö, vice president of NEFCO in Eastern Europe, also joined the event, and presented NEFCO's current activities in Ukraine related to the urgent construction of housing for IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons), restoration of critical infrastructure and the introduction of renewable energy. He also informed about the peculiarities of the process of implementation of funding from NEFCO.

 

Proposals on ecological approaches in construction and urban planning from the leading Finnish companies AFRY, SWECO, METSO and SITOWISE were also highlighted.

 

♻️Jarno Komulainen - AFRY, Lasse Rajala - SWECO, Timo Sarvijarvi - METSO, revealed the issue of ecology and the use of green approaches in construction. They presented the experience of identifying and investigating the presence of hazardous substances, discussed the prospects of using a circular approach in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and presented examples of the reuse of construction waste.

 

👤Eeva Vahtera - SITOWISE, informed about management and urban planning tools that will make this process more efficient and simple.

 

🤝Earlier, during the extended meeting of the Board of Directors of the CBU, Antti Vänskä, Special Envoy for Reconstruction and Support of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, spoke. Antti Vänskä assured of Ukraine's sincere support and emphasized the important aspects of the countries' further cooperation: "Finland strongly supports Ukraine. We sympathize with you very much, and we have been with you since the beginning of the full-scale invasion."

 

Also earlier, during the extended meeting of the CBU Board of Directors, the East Office of Finnish Industries became a Strategic business-partner of the CBU.
