☝️Regulation of the timber market will help the development of the construction industry

👥Andriy Monich, Head of the Regional Representative Office of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine in Rivne region, Director of RENOME-EUROBUD LLC, participated in the offsite meeting of the task force of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development. The event was dedicated to the reform of the timber market and the development of the woodworking and furniture industries in Ukraine.

🏘️ The roundtable emphasized the widespread use of wood materials in modern construction.

In particular by now, wood is used not only in furniture, flooring and wall coverings, but also in load-bearing and enclosing structures of various types of composite and SIP panels. In addition, the trend of recent years has been the environmental construction of frame and modular houses made of wood. 

🌐The widespread use of wood in construction is actively supported by the international environmental community, as such solutions help reduce CO₂ and other harmful emissions.

📊For the development of this sector in Ukraine, it is necessary to make the cost of wood building materials competitive. Therefore, the overall development of the industry depends on the terms of sale and the cost of raw wood.

📝This aspect is taken into account in the updated draft law “On the Timber Market”. Its main provisions were presented during an offsite meeting of the working group. The document will be submitted to the committee for consideration.
