👷 Safe work, decent pay, effective reconstruction

📆 On 4 November 2025, the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) Task Force Ukraine held its regular meeting dedicated to the development of social partnership, the implementation of European labour standards and practical steps for the sustainable recovery of Ukraine.

Traditionally, the Ukrainian side joined the meeting chaired by CBU President Lev Partskhaladze.

👤 Ketil Tonning, Chair of the FIEC-EIC Task Force «Ukraine», Honorary President of FIEC, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He stressed that safe working conditions are an integral part of the reconstruction process: ‘We realise how important worker safety is for preserving life and health. Significant progress has already been made, but there is still a lot of work to be done to make these standards the norm for every construction site.’

During the meeting, special attention was paid to discussing the FIEC-EFBWW Memorandum of Understanding on the sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine.

🤝 FIEC General Director Domenico Campogrande stressed that the document is intended to promote the implementation of reforms in the context of Ukraine's European integration and to strengthen social guarantees.

📑 One of the key topics of the meeting was the Sectoral Agreement between the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and the Trade Union of Construction and Building Materials Industry Workers of Ukraine (PROFBUD) for 2025-2027. PROFBUD Chairman Vasyl Andreyev presented the practical aspects of the agreement's implementation, in particular its scope, structure and mechanisms of application.

👤 Oleksandr Chervak, General Director of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, noted that the signing of the agreement was a landmark event for the entire sector.

🌐 During the meeting, the programme for the Recovery Construction Forum 4.0, which will take place on 13 November in Warsaw, was also presented. This forum will be an international platform for discussing practical mechanisms for the reconstruction and further integration of the Ukrainian construction industry into the European space.
