🦺 SAFER Reconstruction: Pilot project for veterans' vocational training for the construction industry presented on Builder's Day

On August 5, 2026, during the anniversary reception marking the 15th anniversary of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU) and Builder's Day, the SAFER Reconstruction pilot veteran project was presented. The project was introduced by Snizhana Leu-Severynenko, PhD, V94 Workforce Development Advisor, who spoke about the program's results, the participants' experiences, and the role of partnerships between business, education, veteran organizations, and international institutions in training personnel for Ukraine's recovery.

🇺🇦 SAFER Reconstruction is a project aimed at preparing veterans for professional activities in the field of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) on construction sites in Ukraine. It was implemented by the V94 Academy with the support of the Swedish Institute in partnership with the CBU.

🎓 Within the framework of SAFER Reconstruction, 13 veterans were selected from 38 candidates who expressed a desire to participate in the program.

💙 The project team paid special attention to the psychological and social support of the participants. An important discovery was also the issue of interaction between veterans and civilian workers.

Also, letters of appreciation for active support and invaluable contribution to the successful implementation of SAFER Reconstruction were presented to the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, BDO Ukraine, and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.

The V94 Academy was separately recognized for its significant contribution to the development of vocational education, support for veterans, and the creation of opportunities for their professional realization.

The Confederation of Builders of Ukraine continues to support partnership initiatives aimed at developing human capital, the professional integration of veterans, and building the modern workforce capacity of the construction sector.
