🏗️Steel Solutions for Ukraine's Recovery: The Experience of Ruukki
At the forum “Modern Finnish Technologies, Equipment and Experience - for the Recovery of Ukraine,” the event's strategic partner — Ruukki Ukraine — presented steel solutions for the reconstruction of buildings based on international experience and modern environmental technologies.
Yuriy Obukh, Business director of Ruukki Ukraine, emphasized the company’s holistic approach — from using environmentally friendly raw materials to providing comprehensive turnkey solutions for professional construction.
🌃Ruukki is a leading supplier of steel wall and roofing systems in Europe and demonstrates real-life examples of innovation implementation. In particular, the company has completed the world’s first projects using fossil-free steel: the roof of a private house in Finland, an industrial building in Sweden, and a residential complex in Västra Götaland, where the carbon footprint was reduced by 70%.
Ruukki has been actively operating in the Ukrainian market since 1997. It has its own production facility in Kyiv region, 7 regional offices, and over 100 partners in its dealer network. Ruukki’s production capacity allows manufacturing up to 5 million m² of roofing and facade products annually, and its modern logistics ensures fast delivery across the entire country.
🌐The company is a leader in implementing European requirements for construction products — it was the first to register its products on the Unified State Electronic System in Construction Sector portal in accordance with EU Regulation No. 305/2011. Currently, 50 products have been officially registered and certified in accordance with both Ukrainian and European legislation.
Ruukki Ukraine also pays special attention to social responsibility — during the war, more than 20,000 m² of roofs have been restored, the company supports communities and works with volunteers. In addition, together with its partners, Ruukki Ukraine actively participates in the state program “eRecovery,” under which about 50 private houses have already been repaired.
