On October 10, 2024, a meeting of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine", which unites the European construction business for the future reconstruction of Ukraine, took place.

🤝During the meeting, Charles-Antoine De Crombrugghe de Picquendaele, a representative of the European Commission, presented the features of European Union financing of programs and projects in Ukraine.

In particular, the Ukraine Facility program, which provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros. The program consists of three components: a financial support plan, a framework investment program and an assistance program.

🔹The first component is destined for the provision of grants and loans to the state budget, which will help cover Ukraine's urgent financial needs, promote recovery and modernization, and encourage reforms.

🔹The second component will focus on a risk reduction mechanism that will be available to investors through international financial institutions, support for the Ukrainian private sector, and technical assistance in investment preparation.

🔹And the third component is technical assistance to the Government of Ukraine, in particular, in matters of structural reforms, support of civil society and development of potential at the national, regional and local levels.

🤝 Another project of the European Commission is the Ukraine Investment Framework. It must mobilize investments for the reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine, which will be coordinated with the Ukraine Facility.

Support will be implemented in the form of a combination of blended finance/grants/technical assistance of €1.5 billion and guaranteed capacity guarantees of €7.8 billion targeting both the public and private sectors.

The main areas of investment should be human capital, energy, transport, agriculture, digital transformation and green transition.

🗣️The participants touched on the issue of the fact that business does not always know about possible support programs from the EU. Therefore, the Ukrainian side appealed to European colleagues with a request to provide additional information about similar programs through FIEC, and the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, in turn, will disseminate information among Ukrainian business representatives.

🤝 Oleksandr Chervak, CEO of CBU, expressed his gratitude to the Norwegian partners for the donation of NOK 100,000, which will be transferred in the near future, to equip one of the destroyed and reconstructed schools in the Kyiv region.

💬"If similar initiatives arise, we will be grateful for any help. We are ready to make contact and provide all possible support", Mr. Oleksandr assured.

🌐Oleksandr Chervak also reminded his colleagues that on November 13, 2024, Recovery Construction Forum 3.0 will be held in Warsaw, Poland, during which we will consolidate the efforts of Ukrainian and international business for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

🌐The meeting participants discussed possible future meetings and prospects for cooperation. In particular, Kjetil Tonning, Chairman of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine", Honorary President of FIEC, informed about the upcoming investment conference "European Union - Ukraine", which will be held on November 13-14 in Warsaw, Poland.

It was also decided that the next meeting of the Task Force "Ukraine", during which the conclusions of the Recovery Construction Forum 3.0 will be summarized, will be held on November 21, 2024.
