🌐 The IX Congress of the Trade Union of Workers of Construction and the Building Materials Industry of Ukraine took place
ℹ️ The Trade Union of Workers of Construction and the Building Materials Industry of Ukraine, a member of the CBU Board of Directors, is a nationwide sectoral union that unites 57,000 employees of construction and installation companies; cement plants; research and expert organizations; companies producing concrete, ceramic tiles, bricks, gypsum, mixes, metal structures and metal profiles, glass; enterprises engaged in the extraction and processing of stone, kaolin, graphite and other building-materials industries, as well as architects, designers, students of construction schools and their teachers.
From the CBU, Oleksandr Chervak, Executive Director of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, took part in the Congress.
“Today, the construction industry is one of the drivers of the economy. But without proper working conditions, decent pay, upskilling, and protection of workers’ rights, sustainable development is impossible. That is why the role of the trade union in shaping a balance between employers and employees is decisive,” Mr. Oleksandr emphasized.
Among the invited guests and delegates of the Congress were representatives of the government, local self-government, entrepreneurs, and national and international institutions:
👤 Nataliia Kozlovska, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine

💼 Vasyl Andriiev, Head of the Trade Union, reported on the Union’s work from 2020 to 2025 and on the action program for 2025–2030.
🪖 Today, the sector faces a shortage of skilled personnel due to mobilization. Looking ahead, it will undergo the process of reintegrating veterans returning to professional activity, which requires a systematic approach and updated labor standards.
📌 In the summer, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, together with the Trade Union, signed a Sectoral Agreement for 2025–2027 that enshrined increased social guarantees for construction workers.
💬 Oleksandr Chervak also noted: “The Congress program provides for the consideration of issues that will determine the future of the trade union for the next five years: from electing governing bodies and amending the Statute to approving a new action program. These are not mere formalities; they are decisions that will affect the protection of workers’ rights, the quality of social dialogue, and the development of the industry.” He wished those present a productive discussion and far-sighted decisions.
🙌 The IX Congress of the Trade Union of Workers of Construction and the Building Materials Industry of Ukraine once again proved that the trade-union movement in the construction sector is a powerful consolidating force.
WE WILL WIN AND REBUILD EVERYTHING! 💪
TOGETHER TO VICTORY!
GLORY TO UKRAINE! 💙💛
