🤝 Vocational Education, Energy, and Construction: Dialogue Between Government and Business in Zaporizhzhia

📆 On January 21, within the framework of a working visit to the Vocational Education Institution "Zaporizhzhia Technological Professional College 'Motorobudivnyk'", a meeting of the EdUP Project Supervisory Board members with representatives of the authorities and companies of the energy and construction sectors took place.

The meeting was opened by Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, who outlined the key challenges of the region and the role of vocational education in training personnel for the energy and construction sectors in the context of recovery.

💡 Jean-Luc Bernasconi, Director of the Cooperation Programme at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, and Iryna Shumik, Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, also addressed the participants with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of international support and updating the vocational education system in accordance with labor market needs.

👷 The Confederation of Builders of Ukraine was represented at the meeting by Oleksandr Chervak, Executive Director of the CBU and Head of the EdUP Project Business Advisory Board.

📌 During the discussion, participants focused on problematic issues in the energy and construction spheres, particularly on personnel shortages and the need to update educational programs and the material and technical base of vocational education institutions according to the real needs of the labor market.

Yuliia Yepifanova, Project Manager of EdUP, emphasized the importance of systemic interaction between vocational education institutions, authorities, and employers to train specialists in demand in the energy and construction industries, especially in the context of regional recovery.

📊 Special attention was paid to the issues of involving business in the development of vocational education.
