👷 Within the framework of the #Skills4Recovery multi-donor initiative, the Bridging Skills for Construction: Roadmap for Skilled Workforce Provision of Ukraine 2026–2030 was presented

On August 5, 2026, during the anniversary reception celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU) and Builder's Day, the presentation of the Bridging Skills for Construction: Roadmap for Skilled Workforce Provision of Ukraine 2026–2030 took place. This is a strategic document prepared as part of the "Bridging Skills for Construction" project, which is implemented as part of the #Skills4Recovery multi-donor initiative with the financial support of the European Union, Germany, Poland, Estonia, and Denmark. The initiative is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL). The main partner for the project's implementation is the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine.

📚 The Roadmap is the result of collaborative work between representatives of the construction business, public authorities, vocational education institutions, the expert community, and international partners. The document was prepared based on a comprehensive industry study of personnel needs, conducted among 200 construction companies.

During the presentation, Oleksandr Chervak, Executive Director of the CBU, emphasized that human resource provision is one of the key challenges for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The construction market meets only about half of the demand for qualified workers, while vocational training programs lag behind modern technologies.

One of the main priorities is increasing the attractiveness and prestige of construction professions.

📌 An important innovation will be the team-based training model and the digital construction worker ID card.

The Confederation of Builders of Ukraine calls upon international partners, donor organizations, international financial institutions, public authorities, business, and the educational community to join the next stage of implementing the Roadmap and to support the practical execution of its key areas.
