🏥 New Hospital Concept for Ukraine: Modular Hospital Presentation for Municipalities

📅 On 12 November 2025, in Warsaw, Poland, a special event was held for representatives of Ukrainian municipalities, where the New Hospital Concept—a modern modular hospital concept aimed at accelerating efficient and planned reconstruction of Ukraine’s medical infrastructure—was presented.

🏗️ The New Hospital Concept is a flexible design framework for fast and efficient hospital planning, scalable to the facility’s profile, population needs, and land plot characteristics.

Its core includes entrance and reception areas, the “hot hospital” block (operating theatres, intensive care, diagnostics, emergency medical care, outpatient services), and inpatient wards formed according to typical modular principles.

👤 Antti Vänskä, Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine, highlighted the deep cooperation between the countries and the active participation of Finnish companies in supporting Ukraine:

“Globally speaking, Finland is one of Ukraine’s most committed partners. We have tried to involve Finnish companies in cooperation with Ukraine as much as possible. Partnership continues across sectors, and this exchange brings valuable experience for both sides.”

👤 Reijo Kangas, Representative of Business Finland:

“Finland has strong expertise in medical solutions, and our partnership with IHDA demonstrates this in practice.”

👤 Oleksandr Chervak, CEO of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine:

“Our next step is constructing a pilot project in a community that expresses readiness to implement it. We aim to make reconstruction faster, better, and more predictable — this is the purpose of the concept.”

👤 Outi Forsström, Representative of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland:

“Helping Ukraine today is the most important investment into the security and future of Europe. We understand this well from our own history.”

👤 **Jukka Vasara**, Vice President of Granlund Group, presented the potential of IHDA:

“IHDA integrates expertise in hospital design — from medical system planning and functional solutions to architecture, engineering, and construction management. We have significant experience in developing medical infrastructure and have successfully implemented dozens of projects.”

👤 Antti Alho, Vice President, Nordic Healthcare Group:

“The conceptual hospital is not a finished building. It is a flexible design structure that enables fast and efficient planning tailored to specific needs.”

👤 Kimmo Lintula, Finnish architect:

“The modular concept provides high spatial flexibility and adaptability, reduces stress for staff and patients, improves sleep and safety, and adjusts to local norms and culture. It works both in urban and rural settings.”

The event also included a dynamic discussion with representatives from Bucha and Vinnytsia communities, as well as municipalities from Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions. Participants shared their vision of medical infrastructure development, discussed community needs, and identified directions for further cooperation within the modular hospital concept.

📌 The event aimed to familiarise Ukrainian municipalities with modern hospital design approaches, international partnership opportunities, and potential financial instruments for implementing such projects.
