📆 🏗️On April 25, 2024, the REBUILD UKRAINE CONFERENCE was held in Paris as part of the INTERMAT 2024 exhibition in partnership with BUSINESS FRANCE and Premier Expo.

👤 On behalf of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, the President of the CBU Lev Partskhaladze joined the conference: "I am sincerely grateful for the invitation to be present here today, among reliable partners of Ukraine."

He noted that the war in Ukraine is definitely a tragedy. These are catastrophic losses and millions of ruined human lives. But on the other hand, it is a window of opportunity.

At the same time, it is worth understanding that some cities will have to be rebuilt almost from scratch, and it is important for the reconstruction to be modern and of high quality, so as not to repeat the Soviet construction, which does not meet any standards and principles of today.

It will be necessary to restore critical infrastructure, rebuild schools, kindergartens, hospitals and much more. And for this, international support is needed, because the volume of work is enormous.

Partially, where it is conditionally safe, housing, roads, bridges and much more are already being restored. But there will still be a lot of work in the temporarily occupied territories.

Today, a large number of partners support Ukraine. It is about both: government initiatives from countries and through foundations and financial institutions. And Ukraine is very grateful for that.

💬"We also understand that Ukraine is a candidate for EU membership and we are actively changing our legislation in accordance with European one. We are already implementing the European certification system, continuing anti-corruption and judicial reforms, and we also have achievements - transparency in public procurement. So, today I would like to draw your attention to the fact that construction will be the main engine of Ukraine after the war!" Lev Partskhaladze noted.

Also during the conference, the President of the CBU spoke about the priority needs of Ukraine today and talked about incentives for foreign partners to invest in the production of our country.

✅Separately within the framework of INTERMAT 2024 together with Nataliia Kozlovska, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, and international partners, there was a discussion of the Recommendations for the Future Reconstruction of Ukraine, which were developed during the meetings of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine". The following participated in the development of the document: ACE – The Architects’ Council of Europe (www.ace-cae.eu); CBU – Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (www.kbu.org.ua); CECE – Committee for European Construction Equipment (www.cece.eu); CICA – Confederation of International Contractors’ Assocaitions (www.cica.net); EDA – European Demolition Association (www.europeandemolition.org); EFCA - European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (www.efcanet.org); EIC – European International Contractors (www.eic-federation.eu); ERA - European Rental Association (www.erarental.org); FIEC – European Construction Industry Federation (www.fiec.eu); UEG - Union of European Scaffolding Companies (www.ueg-eu.org).

And already today, April 26, 2024, another meeting of the FIEC-EIC Task Force "Ukraine" took place with European businesses interested in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
