♻️Within the framework of the extended meeting of the CBU Board of Directors, on May 21, 2024, a separate discussion block was held to present the GIZ project to promote energy efficiency (green reconstruction).
Organizers: Confederation of Builders of Ukraine and NGO Living Planet with the support of the project "Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine" implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

👤Oleksandr Chervak, CEO of the CBU, who welcomed participants, noted that the use of energy-efficient approaches is extremely important for the reconstruction of Ukraine to be not only fast but also of high quality - according to the principle of Build Back Better.
👤As noted by Svitlana Berzina, President of the NGO Living Planet, a partner organization of the GIZ project, moderator of the discussion, the topic of energy-efficient reconstruction is becoming more and more relevant every day, especially after the European Union has adopted the Facility Plan for Ukraine.

👤 Deputy Minister of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Victoria Kyreieva informed about the main tracks of green reconstruction and the importance of decarbonization of buildings in achieving the goals of climate policy and European integration.
According to Victoria Kyreieva, the construction sector has a great potential to contribute to decarbonization and influence other sectors of the economy through the application of energy-efficient green building standards, using renewable energy and production facilities for environmental goods and services.
👤In his speech, Dmytro Petrunin, Head of the Energy Efficiency Directorate of the The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, reported on the new Program for Comprehensive Thermal Modernization of Public Sector Facilities and the Implementation of Priority Measures. The importance of methodological support, exchange of experience and implementation of energy-efficient green building projects were emphasized.
He recalled that in order to support energy efficiency in construction, since 2021, the GIZ project has been involved in the development of methodological guidelines on the basics of designing energy-efficient schools and kindergartens with improved environmental performance in combination with the curriculum.
👤Natalia Diuzhylova, Deputy Head of the State Inspection of Architecture and Urban Development of Ukraine, noted that the implementation of energy-efficient construction projects will require the use of technologies, that are cleaner, management methods, and environmentally friendly products and materials. Natalia Diuzhylova also presented the state of development of the construction materials market during the war, technical regulation and state control, as well as the answer to the question "what are eco-friendly construction materials".
🌿Irena Gabrielaitiene, Manager of the Energy, Housing and Reconstruction Policy Sector at the European Delegation in Ukraine, spoke about the EU legislative framework, support programs, projects in Ukraine, and the New European Bauhaus.
🌿Dr. Christine Lemaitre, Chief Executive Officer at DGNB German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen - DGNB eV), presented the development of multi-criteria standards for assessing buildings for sustainable development.

♻️Gregor Broemling, Project Director bei Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, informed about the project's activities. Thus, the project contributes to Ukraine's energy transition to clean and efficient energy supply. This will reduce high energy consumption and costs for public and private institutions, as well as support households and companies in planning, budgeting, and implementing their own energy efficiency measures.
👤Svitlana Berzina presented materials and reuse projects that have successfully passed the expert evaluation, have been uploaded to the Single Electronic System in the Construction Sector and are available for use.
💬"The availability of ready-made projects that meet the standards of energy-efficient green construction will save time and money for the construction of modern, comfortable and safe facilities for our children," Svitlana Berzina said.
Also during the discussion, the start of public discussion of the first edition of the draft Standard Operating Conditions for the Original Equipment Manufacturer for Buildings and Structures. Public buildings. Environmental criteria and life cycle assessment method was announced.
The presentation was held with the participation of the standard developers:
