🏗️ SAFER Reconstruction – a training initiative for HSE coordinators
As part of the KBU Business Day on March 18, 2026, an expanded meeting of the KBU Board of Directors was held, during which representatives of the SAFER Reconstruction project—Mikael Hallberg, Project Director; Edward von Knorring, Project Manager; and Stefan Hallden, CEO of V94 AB, a strategic business partner of the CBU, presented an initiative to train Ukrainian veterans to work as health, safety, and environment (HSE) coordinators.
Representatives of 94 Academy stated that they were pleased to be present at CBU Business Day. They introduced themselves and noted that, together with their colleagues, they are working in Ukraine to train veterans and Ukrainian women for the construction sector.
💬 They informed about an ongoing project in Vinnytsia, where theoretical training for veterans has started at the Vinnytsia Professional College of Construction. It was noted that after eight weeks of theoretical training, participants will proceed to practical training at construction sites across Ukraine. They also emphasized that one of the key reasons for attending the event is to establish connections with construction companies in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine.
🗓️ It was further mentioned that the team began traveling to Ukraine in the summer of 2023 to better understand the situation and identify ways to provide support. Since then, they have been visiting Ukraine regularly, and over the past six months — on a monthly basis due to ongoing projects.
✊ Their main objective, as highlighted, is to support as many veterans as possible in their transition to civilian life, with a particular focus on employment. In this context, they underlined the importance of engaging with potential employers.
They also noted that 94 Academy is a Swedish company working with the Swedish government, which has a clear focus on supporting Ukraine, and that the organization is a strategic partner of CBU.

SAFER Reconstruction is a project that trains Ukrainian war veterans to become HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) coordinators at the Vinnytsia Vocational College of Construction over a 12-month period.
The project is being implemented in collaboration between V94 and the Vinnytsia Vocational College of Construction, the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
