📍 SAFER Reconstruction Project: Training Veterans as HSE Coordinators for Reconstruction Needs

🗣 On February 6, 2026, a working meeting took place between representatives of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (СBU) and a delegation from their strategic business partner, the Swedish company V94 AB. The event focused on developing bilateral cooperation aimed at improving the system of professional training and upskilling for veterans.

As part of the international SAFER Reconstruction project implementation, a series of meetings were held with representatives of the construction industry. These meetings addressed practical aspects of integrating certified HSE coordinators into construction production processes. Primary attention was given to forming a consolidated list of partner companies ready to provide employment and offer internship opportunities for program participants at their own construction sites.

It was separately noted that the implementation of these measures will contribute to improving occupational safety standards at construction sites, as well as creating additional opportunities for professional adaptation and the return of veterans to the workforce.

Earlier, on February 3, 2026, a similar working meeting took place in Vinnytsia, where cooperation issues within the veteran training program were discussed.

👷 The implementation of this initiative will facilitate the training of highly qualified specialists capable of ensuring compliance with safety standards at reconstruction sites and in production processes. It will also create additional opportunities for employment and professional adaptation of veterans.

📋 Background: SAFER Reconstruction is a project that provides training for Ukrainian war veterans to become HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) coordinators at the Vinnytsia Professional College of Construction over a period of 12 months.

The project is being implemented in cooperation between V94 and Vinnytsia Professional College of Construction, the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine and Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
